Boston Marriage by David Mamet
Rapture is proud to present the exciting Scottish premiere of Mamet’s latest critically-acclaimed work Boston Marriage, nominated for an Olivier award in 2001.
About the Play
Set at the turn of the century, two wealthy Bostonian women hold a very special relationship until the unthinkable happens; one of them falls in love!
Anna and Claire are two bantering, scheming ladies of fashion, who have long lived together on the fringes of upper class society. Anna has just become the mistress of a wealthy man from whom she receives an enormous income and an emerald to match. However, it is Claire’s new love that puts the emerald and the ladies’ existence in danger.
Rapture regular Lyn McAndrew, who performed to great acclaim in Richard III and Boy Gets Girl, takes on the part of Claire. While Bridget McCann, whose work includes seasons at the Lyceum and Dundee Rep, will take the pivotal role of Anna. And finally, Carmen Pieraccini, whose recent work includes the latest Ian Heggie play Love Freaks at the Tron Theatre, as well as Jack and the Beanstalk, will play Catherine, the maid.
