
John is an award-winning actor, writer and director. A founding member of 7:84’s original production of the Cheviot, he directed a revival for Wildcat as well as The Silver Darlings, Oh What A Lovely War and The Jolly Beggars. Other directing includes a raft of shows at Oran Mor plus 5 written by himself. His play Para Handy was revived by Pitlochry Theatre and his tribute to Flanders and Swann, Tipping the Hat, played the Traverse and Haddo House. He has written for stage, television, extensively for radio, and has had poems published. His show The Kist with Fiona Kennedy has had numerous incarnations, including a performance in New York. He toured Europe as Polonius and has worked with companies in Athens and Sicily. Weel kent for his appearances in Scotch and Wry, he has been in 12 international films. His episodes in River City as Lord Duncan Campbell Baxter will start to appear on your screens two weeks before Christmas.
