Situated at the heart of Dunfermline, Carnegie Hall is an attractive art deco theatre which presents a quality programme of music, drama, comedy, dance and children’s shows.

The theatre supports and hosts local arts organisations, including Carnegie Youth Theatre, Kelty and Rosyth Musical Societies and several popular dance schools.

Adjacent to Carnegie Hall, the Music Institute welcomes workshops, classes and children’s groups. Our Studio Theatre, found within the Music Institute, also acts as a rehearsal and performance space for creating and developing new work.

We premiered, at the venue, our production of the hit play “ Gagarin Way” by Dunfermline born writer Gregory Burke. The place was packed and heaved with laughter at the sharp one-liners played to perfection by our wonderful cast. The jet-black comedy of the play rang out across the theatre – it was a real night to remember!

Getting There

On foot
Carnegie Hall is in the East end of Dunfermline town centre at East Port, which continues from the High Street. The venue is also adjacent to the public park.

By car
A car park is available next to the theatre. From the East, follow the main route into central Dunfermline, from where Carnegie Hall is well signposted with brown tourist signs. From the West, follow Carnegie Drive and turn right onto East Port at Sinclair Gardens roundabout.

By public transport
Dunfermline Train Station, on the Fife Circle rail line, is a short walk away through the park. A regular service operates via Kirkcaldy from the North and from Edinburgh in the South.

Dunfermline Bus Station is a 10-minute walk from the theatre.

Access Information

Disabled facilities:
Ramped access to Carnegie Hall and Tiffany Café Bar is available next to the theatre entrance.
Eleven wheelchair spaces are available in the auditorium. Please reserve one when you buy your ticket.
There is an induction loop system for the hard of hearing.
Guide dogs are welcome.
There are limited parking facilities next to the theatre for people with limited mobility. To enter just buzz at the barrier and say if you have a disabled badge.
